An Inclusive Bishop

Bishop Timothy Ravinder, the sixth and current Bishop of the Church of South India's (CSI) Coimbatore Diocese, is regarded as one of the most charismatic and approachable pastoral leaders in contemporary India.

Drawing from deep Christian values and family belonging to the picturesque Ketti velley of the Nilgiris district, the young Timothy pursued theology after graduating with a degree in Physics. His academic journey has spanned the Laidlaw Memorial School, Sri Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore, United Theological College, Bangalore, and the University of Copenhagen. His pastoral career has included assignments in the CSI Synod, Chennai, and deputations in Germany, before being formally elected as a Bishop in 2013.

“Bishop Timothy Ravinder: Ethical Leadership in the Corridors of Faith” by Prashanth Appuswamy chronicles the Bishop’s remarkable journey with success stories of spiritual motivation and organizational development of the CSI Coimbatore Diocese under his 10+ years of leadership, and his ongoing contributions to the wider Church and society at large.
